She BAM! Galerie Laetitia Gorsy

She BAM! is an all-women gallery represented by the french gallerist Laetitia Gorsy. The program is international and the desire is to join forces with artists and collaborators to showcase the diversity that current artistic practices can represent. She BAM! works with emerging, mid-career and established artists from France, Germany, Russia, Sweden, Poland, the US.

She BAM! since 2018, is very present in the European media as the gallery proposes very attractive shows on one side, with on the top, a political and social engagement on the other side. She BAM! intends to support and manage women artists and their careers. It is an initiative that believes in the importance of women who create spaces for other women without competition, without malice. It stands for continuity of sharing, a transfer of power. The gallery publishes books, fanzine and attractive printed matters for all the artists. She BAM! collaborates with artists such as Guerrilla Girls, Anastasia Bay and Anna Nero.

Theresa Möller lays out her broad knowledge about flora on large canvas. She thus recreates some sort of a reverse process of our civilization by referring to the “Eden” of our genealogy: Nature. The Nature that is given to us, that reigns before we build. The shades are sweet mallows, powdery blues, fruity oranges and SeaGreen. The mineral pigments remind us those summers when the lights become purplish. Architectures reappear occasionally through horizon lines and geometrical forms created by Nature.

The patterns look alive but are by no means human. We are facing cosmoramas devoid of characters. In Latin mythology, Diane is a fierce goddess. She is originally “the Divine”, the incarnation of daylight. She is the symbol of an independent feminine power. Her presence is triggered by her absence. Her surreal temporality felt reflects a tormented inner space, which outlines also the major current contemporary concerns. This is what She BAM! will showcase during VOLTA New York 2022.
