“Unknown Memory” Masayuki Tsubota
The human body is an ever-changing system that connects other bodies and spaces in order to perceive the reality surrounding it. It is also a communication system that has infinite ways of expressing itself. Human beings, within their fundamental perceptions, have the power and wisdom to connect with nature. However, they may be buried in a place like a small seed of each person, in the current urban lifestyle overloaded with information.
With my works, I seek to evoke the “unknown memory” that has been lost but was originally possessed by human beings. The composition of my works that change when the viewer moves and acts contains elements that provide richness to the world: something that the digital world can never express. Substances that were slowly whittled, polished, and carved; and colors that create the basic images react with each other to become one piece of work. They will open doors to convey our consciousness to the unknown memory by vibrating our identities.
