LAGOS was founded in 2018 in Mexico City with the mission to support and elevate the work of artists from around the world. Since then, Lagos has hosted over 100 artists-in-residence from diverse nationalities, providing a platform for creative growth and cross-cultural exchange.

In 2023, LAGOS began a new chapter by initiating a series of collaborative exchanges with some institutions in Berlin. These exchanges have enhanced the mobility and visibility of Mexico City and Berlin’s artistic communities through our Artist-in-Residence Programs in both cities.

In addition to the residency and exhibition programs, LAGOS has consistently participated in art fairs, providing artists within our community the opportunity to connect with global markets.

In 2025, LAGOS launched the LAGOS Platform, a digital commercial space designed to promote and sell the work of artists who have been part of our residency programs.
