Stand C10
Bioskop Balkan: Space for Contemporary Art is a project space located in a historic 19th-century building in the city centre, which once served as a cinema, hosting the first operas, musicals, and theatre performances in Belgrade. Today, this setting remains a vibrant gathering place for artists and audiences, functioning as an independent cultural centre.
As a protected heritage site and cultural monument, Bioskop Balkan is closely aligned with the Foundation Saša Marčeta in a joint effort to support artists and enrich the contemporary art scene by providing both gallery space and financial and organisational backing. Engaging with the dynamic landscape of contemporary art, Bioskop Balkan collaborate with local art institutions, academies, and students for their annual exhibitions, and artist associations.
