VUNU Gallery
VUNU Gallery’s presentation is focused on a multigenerational presentation of contemporary Slovak artists who achieve a wider global reach.
Juraj Bartusz, now a legendary Czechoslovak sculptor and representative of the older generation, presents his time-space steel sculptures, and Viktor Frešo, a representative of the middle generation, presents his quizzical self-portrait 3D heads.
The gallery also presents young painters Martin Lukáč, Katarína Janečková and Kanrec Sakul. While Martin Lukáč focuses on abstract and gestural painting with elements of pop culture themes, Katarína Janečková focuses on feminine scenes and the position of the mother in the family. Kanrec Sakul paints his personal colorful worlds full of hidden visual signs. The exhibition can thus have an eclectic effect, but it gives a good picture of the cross-sec:on of contemporary Slovak art and the author's introspective positions, which, however, speak of wider societal themes.
