Alexandra Roozen has an academic approach to her work. Her drawings come together through thorough and meticulous research. Although she works in formal grids, her drawings do possess layers and fluctuation, representing both stillness and movement.
Rhythm, structure and arrangement in natural materials as wood and plaster are essential for Flavio Senoner to compose his works. He is a magnificent craftsman. With his own chosen material, he has explored the many possibilities and has found his own language to express himself.
Jan Maarten Voskuil makes spatial paintings. Like a woodworker, he makes curved and crushed wooden stretchers, which he spans with painter's linen and often paints in monochrome colors. His work might be labeled as a spatial object, sculpture, and autonomous design or even as architecture. He himself continues to call himself a painter, because his frame of reference is painting.
All the works shown in our booth have a minimal abstract quality and what all artists have in common is that they are ‘makers’: the works derive from a conceptual manner, but the actual presented works all have a physical and tangible appearance in space.
