Galerie Heike Strelow

For the VOLTA Basel edition 2021, Galerie Heike Strelow will stage a curated showcase aiming to create a conceptual and aesthetically dialogue between figurative and conceptual artistic positions. The gallery presents new works by Nadja Adelmann, Starsky Brines, Artjom Chepovetskyy, Björn Drenkwitz, Florian Heinke, Mathias Kessler, Ulf Puder, Winter/Hoerbelt, and Hendrik Zimmer

These positions reflect through different mediums on the human condition in the post digital world, raising questions about the relationship between man and contemporary structures. Therefore, we focus not only on the aesthetic and art immanent connections between the works presented, but also on the content-based dialogue between historical and contemporary topics relevant for the current developments in art and society. All artists consciously position themselves with their art works in the art historical discourse, developing their very own signature from their own confrontations with historical positions.
