AEDAEN Gallery

AEDAEN Gallery, Strasbourg presents a solo by German artist Theresa Möller. Born in Hamburg in 1988 she lives and works in Leipzig.

Theresa Möller holds a bachelor’s degree from the Hochschule für Angewandte Wissenschaften in Hamburg and a diploma from the Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst in Leipzig. Her works are collected by Essl Collection in Vienna, The Kulturstiftung der Sparkasse and The Holle / Salondergegenwart.

Theresa Möller’s painting goes beyond the issues of the relationship between abstraction and figuration. And like other painters in Leipzig, where she lives and works, there’s in her painting the emergence of a strange magic at the heart of a known, identified, or identifiable context. Considering Theresa’s works, this context could be the notion of landscape. But unlike many painters of the 3rd generation of the Leipzig school, for whom these elements of the magical, the spiritual, are represented, shown, it’s Theresa Möller’s task to make us feel them. She uses the «painting tool» more to suggest than to show.
