New York | January 16, 2024 — VOLTA Art Fair today announced a set of new changes for the 2024 edition of the New York show. Moving to the fall art fair season, the 16th edition of VOLTA New York will take place from Wednesday, September 4 to Sunday, September 8, in a new venue, Chelsea Industrial, situated in the city’s dynamic Chelsea gallery district. Celebrating the new dates and location, VOLTA will also see newly appointed Advisory Board Members – gallerists Ethan Cohen (Ethan Cohen Gallery), Maryana Kaliner (FORMah Gallery), curator Nikki Nita Ramirez and contemporary artists Ola and Maya Rondiak – join the prestigious line-up to champion the fair and strengthen its artistic community in the city.

As the first New York edition to take place under the helm of Artistic Director Lee Cavaliere, who was appointed in July 2023, the strategic move to the fall art fair season not only ushers VOLTA into a new era but also positions its exhibitors for market success and enables loyal collectors to acquire work showcased in the preceding Basel show scheduled for June 2024.

VOLTA is a pivotal international art fair that takes place in New York and Basel. The fair debuted in Basel in 2005 before expanding to New York in 2008. VOLTA has become an international forum for discovering cutting-edge artwork and rising artistic talent. Post-acquisition by Ramsay Fairs in 2019, the commitment to showcasing pre-eminent talent and supporting ambitious international galleries remains at the core of the fairs in two of the major art market hubs.

New location at Chelsea Industrial

Situated between Chelsea and Hudson Yards, this industrial venue is characterized by its soaring 22,000-square-foot exhibition space and a location central to the city’s arts economy during the September fair week. West Chelsea is the premiere district for the visual arts, boasting over 300 distinguished galleries. Located just a short walk from The Armory Show and Photo Fairs New York at the Javits Center, VOLTA New York’s Chelsea Industrial location places the fair as the optimum forum for collectors to discover new artistic talent.
